What to expect:
Meditation
Each meditation session is 30 minutes.
When you first log in and arrive at your session, you have the option to practise with your camera on or off.
Your guide will always be visible, so you can listen and follow their instructions and visual cues if needed.
To begin, the practice will start with settling into the space you are in. You can choose to sit down or lie down, whichever feels best for your body. What feels right one day may be different the next, so always allow yourself the choice.
You will be guided to notice your five senses and anchor into the support beneath you. You can choose to soften your gaze or close your eyes, whichever feels most comfortable.
From there, you will begin to observe your breath, noticing how it feels and where you feel it in your body.
You will then be guided through a breath practice, which may include simply noticing the breath, visualisation or a body scan. Each practitioner may introduce different approaches to working with the breath.
There is always the option to return to your natural breath if the guided breathing doesn't feel right for you.
Towards the end of the practice, you will have space to notice your breath and perhaps continue with a visualisation if one has been introduced. This is usually around 5–8 minutes of self-led breathing, allowing you to settle into your own rhythm and experience.
As the practice comes to a close, you will be gently guided back to an awareness of your surroundings. If your eyes have been closed, you can slowly reopen them as you reconnect with the space around you.
Your practitioner will bring the session to an end, and you are welcome to remain in your position for as long as you feel called to.
Breathwork
Breathwork sessions are 45 minutes, allowing greater time to settle into the practice and plenty of time for rest.
You may like to have a few things nearby to support your comfort, such as a pillow for your head, a pillow or bolster to place under your knees when lying down, a blanket for warmth, an eye covering if desired, and some tea or water.
When you first log in and arrive at your session, you have the option to practise with your camera on or off. Your guide will always be visible, so you can listen and follow their instructions and visual cues if needed.
To begin, the class will start in an upright position, with the option to have your eyes open or closed. You will be guided to bring awareness to your breath, noticing how it feels and how it is showing up for you as you settle into the space. You will have the option to follow guided movements to support settling into the body and moving with the breath.
You can move in whatever way feels comfortable for you, with movements as big or as small as feels right.
There will be space to transition from sitting to lying down and add supportive props if that feels right for you.
As the practice continues, you will be guided through gentle breathing patterns instructed by the practitioner. Each practitioner may introduce different approaches to working with the breath, allowing you time to explore the guided breathwork in a gentle and easeful way, supporting the body to move towards a state of rest.
There will also be moments of quiet, giving you space to simply sit with and experience the practice.
Towards the end of the practice, you will be gently guided back to an awareness of your surroundings, with time to notice how you feel.
Your practitioner will bring the session to an end, and you are welcome to remain resting.
